RED WITCH Empress Deus Chorus

Red Witch’s most beloved pedal, The Empress Chorus, is back.

Now even better than before.

Ultra Versatile. 100% Analog. New “DARK” mode. Chorus/ Vibrato. Stereo.

The most versatile analog chorus ever made.

The original Empress Chorus was used exclusively by Andy Summers for all chorus sounds on the Police reunion in 2007.

The most iconic exponent of chorus tones.

The biggest reunion of the decade.

The Empress Chorus.

The new Empress Deus Chorus gives you access to the exact same sounds and circuit in Andy’s unit and so much more. All analog, with a new-old-stock MN3007 Bucket Brigade Delay chip at it’s heart, the Empress Deus Chorus offers virtually every chorus flavor you could desire.

The new Empress Deus adds an extra feature, the option of switching the right-hand toggle switch to a much darker mode – allowing you to emulate the high roll off of the classic Boss CE-1.

Featuring the unique VOICE control of the original Empress, you are able to change the delay time of the chorus – allowing you access to an infinite number of chorus pedal sounds in one box – from super-spanky sparkling clean to over-the-top sea-sick inducing, pitch bending wobble.

The new Empress Deus also allows you to run the pedal from either a standard 9 volt DC supply, or, from a 15 volt supply allowing more headroom.

Every analog chorus sound you could ever desire in one, beautiful box.

Sensational chorus

I never considered myself a 'chorus-guy' until I played the Red Which Empress Chorus. The first one I purchased was second-hand and was chrome - I believe it's a very early version, possibly a proto-type. I've recently purchased a second (the dues version) because I want to keep the chrome'd one in as close to mint condition as possible. They sound and are functionally identical from what I can tell.

What sets this chorus apart is the voice control, which allows you to really find your own chorus flavour. This is a wonderful feature and makes this a 'go-to-chorus for those who may like to define their own voice; or experimenters who want to design a sound of their own ; or simply those who want to buy one chorus pedal which will last them a lifetime as their tastes change.

I recommend this pedal. It has something that's hard to describe - call it vibe, or mojo, but for me and this has it. The Red Witch chorus also has a vibrato mode that I haven't really explored - it's also a stereo out - so more fun to explore for those with two amps / speakers. I also have the Boss WazaCraft chorus, which sounds amazing as well. The Boss Waza chorus is a worthwhile contender with great tones for your pedal-board, however the Red Witch beats it for flexibility and for my pedal-board tonally, the Red Witch is the choice one.
