The Woodpile is a touch sensitive, two stage overdrive. Stage i and ii both centered around a central theme. Clean power. While The Woodpile can cover anything in the low-medium gain territory, it was conceived to be a transparent tone shaping machine. Geared towards giving your amp a little extra push into the sweet zone. Add loads of clean volume boost, eq controls, and selectable diode clipping options, and the possibilities are endless.
Stage i is a preamp. With Volume, an asymmetrical diode clipping on/off toggle switch, and a focus control to dial in exactly how much clipping/compression you want, Stage one is bound to be your always on drive at the front of your board.
Stage ii retains the same amount of clarity as Stage i, but with added gain and volume. With Volume, Tone, and Drive controls, an asymmetrical diode clipping on/off toggle switch, and a focus control to dial in exactly how much clipping/compression you want, Stage ii has an unparalleled amount of versatility.
While Both stages were designed to keep your core tone in tact, and geared towards low-medium gain settings, don't be fooled. The Woodpile can send you into higher gain bliss with both stages engaged.
