The ’76 is the pedal they all forgot to build. The ‘76’s fuzz circuit is based around a gem of a modified British three‑transistor fuzz, discovered by my mate Ceallaigh hidden in a vintage fuzz collection in downtown Philly. To my ears, it sounds like someone has taken the cotton wool out of one of those green Russian fuzzes. It is articulate, crunchy and fat, all at the same time.
The harmonic modulator circuit is based on the classic 70’s ring modulator “octave” amp plug-box circuit. It’s the perfect partner for any fuzz… especially this one. Stacking and intensity controls let you control the interaction between the two circuits – from single coil jangle to squished-up, fuzzed-out, ringing 12th fret octaves.
